Chairman’s Message
Hi everyone,
August has been a quiet month for us… until we took our junior members away to Shropshire for the SWA Junior Camp 2023! It was a pleasure to take such a large contingent from Dorset to the camp this year, being the largest group we have taken for a number of years. Our members took part in activities such as high ropes, canoeing, kayaking and much more, whilst also making friends for life from the other counties in the South West. A big thank you goes to Katie and Amy who joined me on the trip as leaders representing Dorset, for giving up their time (and voices!) to make sure our juniors had a great weekend.
This month our Clubs also continue to represent the County at the various countryside shows – thank you all for the effort that has gone in to running the tents and encouraging new members to Dorset YFC.
Thank you also to Puddletown for holding our next 8 Club meet, finishing our summer months with a water fight!
We have ended the month with a new fundraiser for the County, our Family Fun Day. Thank you to all of those who attended and supported the event, as we continue to raise much-needed funds to provide extra storage for the County Office.
On behalf of Dorset YFC, I would also like to send my best wishes to our County Organiser, Tracy, for a speedy recovery during her sick leave – we can’t wait to have you back! 🙂
