Beaminster Young Farmers is a thriving club for any young person aged between 10-26yrs. They currently have 37 members including, Farmers, Carpenters, Engineers, and people attending School and University. We meet on alternate Tuesday nights at The Red Lion, 7.30pm – 9pm, we have a great social life, joining other clubs and other counties at Party’s and Balls. We also take part in South West Area and National Competitions. All members really enjoy taking part in county sports activities, club visits and many more county events. The club is a great place for meeting new people and making friends, some of us met at School in Beaminster, and we have other members who have come from Woodroffe and Sir John Colfox School. We try to keep the meetings fun and busy, we have recently held an Big Breakfast, and our club is represented Dorset YFC at Nationals for the ‘Brainstrust’ competition and came 4th. The Juniors also competed in the Junior Rounders at Nationals and came away with a fantastic 2nd place which is a massive achievement. They are doing a lot of fundraising this year and have recently presented a cheque to Fortuneswell Cancer Trust in the sum of £500.00. There are so many opportunities for everyone in Young Farmers, team sports, worldwide travel, public speaking, and even potential love life !!! – All you have to do is come along and join in !!
