Hello Everyone,
It has continued to be a busy couple of months for the clubs and county and it has been great to see so many members getting involved and representing Dorset Young Farmer’s with enthusiasm and commitment. A highlight of this month was South West Area, where our members once again demonstrated their talent and dedication across a range of competitions. We had great results across the weekend and I was so happy to see other members coming to support those that were competing. I’d like to say a huge well done to everyone that took part in a competition, especially to those of you that were competing at South West Area level for the first time, and good luck to those of you that qualified for Nationals.
We recently held our auctioneering competition on a sunny spring afternoon. This was my first time attending the competition and I was so impressed with the competitors on the day. It is always impressive to see members developing their skills and building confidence – for some, this was their first time taking part in this (or any) YFC competition. These kinds of opportunities are what make YFC so valuable, and it’s great to see them being embraced.
Congratulations must also go to Marshwood Vale YFC, who managed to place not only 1st, but 2nd and 3rd as well in this year’s bowling competition! With the end of the season approaching, we will soon find out if their aim has been as good in the Dorset YFC skittles league…
As we head into spring, we have more events to look forward to including the Dorset YFC 80th Rally, ploughing match, calf show and fundraising like the fun ride. With warmer days, and longer evenings, I am sure club calendars will be filled with interesting events and meetings.
